Heads Up22-Feb-12

One of the world's most revered (and hated) franchises. Won 5 titles before relocating to LA in '60/61. Lost all 8 Finals appearances in the '60s, despite Elgin Baylor and Jerry West's efforts. In '72 won #6, the first in LA. The '80s were Showtime: 5 titles in 9 years with Magic, Kareem, Worthy and coach Pat Riley. From 2000 to 2002, 3 titles consecutively with Shaq, Kobe and coach Phil Jackson. Lost '04 & '08 Finals, but captured 2 more (16) by defeating the Magic in '09, and the Celtics in '10.
