Frequently Asked Questions

How should I use the site?

Couple of things I've found the site useful for.

Breaking News and Inside knowledge
I knew about Amare finding his Jewish roots here first. I read Paul Pierce's boast about taking his talents to South Beach here first. I knew about Charlie Vilanueva's public outing of KG's cancer comment here first. As player's like to break their own news and build a closer relationship to their fans, you will be able to get their news here first, often a few days before the media picks up on it.

Value added commentary
I'll watch a game and keep the Insiders tab open, reading the tweets from beat writers and team officials as the game unfolds. These guys usually make much better points than the TV commentary.

Pulse check of the community
During the game (or during the week), I'll go into the "General" tab to check what Joe Public is saying about the team's playing.

Easy to Sort Videos
Scrolling through and locating videos to watch is simple on TweetsAndBeats. One click to swap between Highlights, Recent, Original and General and then a simple scroll through the video thumbnails and titles without all the clutter slowing you down. A special thank-you to the NBA for providing the video feeds for fans like me to distribute to fans like you.

More colorful and insightful stories
Beat writers have deep knowledge of their teams and players resulting in writing with more authority, insight and color. And they're often on top of a story earlier than the more traditional news outlets.

What's Included in Tweets and Beats?

- Twitter updates from over 180 rostered players and 70 insiders.
- Tweets from thousands of fans calling out a team or player name (General tab).
- The latest stories from beat writers across the league.
- A daily supply of team and league videos from NBA.com.
- An NBA Twitter ranking table.
- All in an easy to digest format.

How fresh is the content?

Twitter updates refresh in close to real time. News and video updates multiple times a day. The Twitter table is a snapshot taken once a day.

How many items are posted every day?

Estimate over 2000 new items - twitter, news, video - is published across 30 teams through the full 24/7 NBA news cycle. Could quite possibly be twice this if you count all the random fan twitter about teams captured in the "General" tab.
